<isc:description><![CDATA[This week’s “Ask The Chief” guest Charles “Chuck/Big Daddy” Meier joins ATC’s Chief Mikal Vega for what will be a great show between two Navy Vets.Chuck Meier is a retired U.S. Navy SAR Combat Rescue Swimmer. He served two tours as a Rescue Swimmer and was one of the first crewman on the Sikorsky H-3 & Huey H-1 Helicopters. After serving in the Navy, Chuck served as a Crash Rescue Fireman on NAS Key West Crash Rescue, was Deputy Sheriff in Monroe County and served both on the S.W.A.T and Dive Teams. From 2003 to 2006 he was a security contractor for both CONUS and OCONUS, working for Black Water and SOC providing asset, convoy and personal protection wherever needed. It was in 2006 during a tour in Tikrit, Iraq that the vehicle Chuck was traveling in was struck by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) causing the loss of his right left just below the knew.As you can imagine, the recovery was tough. With the support and the encouragement of his family, Chuck got to writing about his life and that gave life to a new Author and book called “Letters from the Sandbox”. If you ask Chuck to tell you what the book’s about, he’ll say this: “It’s just like a good bowl of Texas Chili; a little spicy and there’s a good chance it’ll bring a tear to your eyes. It’s politically incorrect as the day is long BUT it is a great read for anyone who’s in the Military, Law Enforcement, their spouses or anyone who likes a good story”.Show host, Maria Warnick, had a quick chat with Chuck this weekend and she said she found him to be one of the most genuine and positive people you will ever meet. Every time she greeted him on the phone with a “How are you?”, he always replies the same way, “Happy to be breathing”.There is certainly more behind this great American Hero but we’ll save it for the show and hope that you will tune in as we discuss his service as a Navy SAR, the loss of his right leg, his bout with Post Traumatic Stress and what advice he offers to fellow veterans. To find the link to the live stream, join Vision-Strike-Wear.Com’s Facebook page or add our page to your Google+ circles or join Ask the Chief's Facebook page. ]]></isc:description>

<isc:description><![CDATA[May 6, 2013 - When considering the next company for your custom military design ask yourself a few questions.1. Commercial illustration experience - When it comes to design can they draw? Do they have what is takes to put a high quality design together based on your ideas? Do you know if the design is created from scratch or thrown together on the cheap? At Vision-Strike-Wear.Com they design from scratch and they take the time and put in the hours to produce the highest quality designs in the industry. Other company's that design for the military often cut corners and price things crazy cheap because they don't take the time to do it right or their garage shop mentality seems to pass for quality design. Unfortunately it does not and because you as the customer are unaware until the shirts arrive you will not know. For over 4.5 years the designs produced by Vision-Strike-Wear.Com have been highly sought after by all branches of the military because of their dedication to great designs and not cutting corners when it comes to producing the highest level of design in the industry. 2. The step to a great military design - How does it begin? How do I get my custom military design created? Teamwork is how things get started when creating a great custom shirt or apparel item for your unit, ship or squadron, or association. It starts with ideas, simple drawing or concepts or even a stick figure. The most important part of the design process is the information exchange between customer and the artist. If Vision-Strike-Wear.Com can understand what it is you want then the design will take flight!3. Is there a deposit? Yes? Is it refundable? Yes it is as long as the sketch has not been approved. If we produce a sketch and it is approved then the deposit is kept. If the sketch is not approved or the job is cancelled prior to the sketch approval then the deposit is returned. It's really simple. The goal here is not to get rich taking deposit money! It is to get the best designs to you for your request. The process is to be fun, creative, and morale building. 4. Will you ship to my FPO or APO address? Yes. Never a problem. We have shipped to deployed units all over the world and it is never a problem. from the Horn Of Africa to the top of Alaska, from Japan to US Navy ships at sea we will get your order to you!5. What makes your company different and why have so many military branches and units come to Vision-Strike-Wear.Com? Flexibility, affordability and razor sharp graphics. We are not a text shirt charge a fortune company. We leave that to the other companies that think beating their chests, and charging a mint for some text shirt or unit crest is the envy of the design world. We are not those fellas. We have low minimums, high quality design, incredible printing and overall dedication coupled with integrity attitude we display each day as we work with our men and women in uniform. We are custom military and when it comes to custom military design we are the one that the military comes to. 6. Why don't we see you on Youtube displaying some sock crotch stock panty videos? Because when it comes to creativity our work and our designs are what the military wants. You can laugh at a video or two but honestly those videos are great at selling you a 22.00 dollar text shirt with mediocre design ability but when it comes to quality and getting the best then its pretty obvious that you don't have to sell your designs with a video when it can just as easily be done with quality of design and experience. We don't lower our standards in custom military design and torture you by having you watch a video that sells you short on design. Our standards are far higher and your should be to. 7. I have a design that my unit worked on and want you to work some magic with it. Can you do this? Yes can and have many times. We want to first thank all the artists that are part of the units we have had the opportunity of designing for. Your hard work and talent have made the collaboration efforts even that much better resulting in some fantastic designs! Please send your concepts and ideas to customdesigns@vision-strike-wear.com and we will respond right away with information, pricing and details to help things get started.8. Once we are done with our first order can we order more and do you keep the artwork on file? Yes. In fact if the design is approved for placement on the Vision-Strike-Wear.Com website it can be ordered directly off the website on an individual basis if this is easiest for you. If you are in need of your design number to make finding it that much easier please email us and we will send you this information right away.9. What products do you offer that we can have our design placed on? All forms of apparel from short and long sleeve shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, tank-tops, sleeveless shirts, shorts, sweatpants, plaques, decals, posters, smartphone covers, drinkware with coffee mugs, travel mugs and steins to challenge coins!10. Do you offer bulk pricing and discounts? Yes we do. Let us know what you are interested in having done, quantities, shirt colors by taking a quick moment to fill our quote form at http://www.vision-strike-wear.com/custom-unit-design.html and we will get right back to you with pricing and details and information to help you get started with your custom military design. <isc:description><![CDATA[May 9, 2013 - When it comes to Force Protection one often thinks convoy or convoy defense or protection but the role that Force Protection has is far greater and more widespread than one might think. Including It can include perimeter security, access control, convoy escort, personal protection, loss prevention, medical clinics, work safety, and fire prevention. Often it may also involve incident response capabilities such as quick reaction forces, emergency medical support, fire fighting, and evacuation services. The missions, roles and types of working environments are clearly diverse. When Force Protection asked Vision-Strike-Wear.Com to design for them they simply stated “Force Pro and Grim Reaper, keep it simple but at the same time ad some depth and character and have it look subdued.” They asked and that is exactly what they received. Like the thousands of custom military designs created for all branches of the US military, vision-Strike-Wear.Com (http://www.vision-strike-wear.com) has been one of the strongest supports of all of our military branches bringing creativity, a light spirit of fun and detailed design and a fierce dedication to raisin the morale of our men and women in uniform through exciting and highly detailed military design work. <isc:description><![CDATA[May 9, 2013 - The mission and role of Army Combat Explosive Ordnance Disposal teams and their companies is at an all time high with regard to deployment schedules and their much needed expertise in the field. As combat operations take on a different phase in Afghanistan with infantry and combat troops being relieved by civil affairs, police trained units with military police for example, the need for EOD units is on the increase. After many years of operations in Afghanistan, the United States is faced with dealing with the aftermath of war and destruction throughout the country and now is dealing with even bigger threats from unexploded ordnance, minefields and other destructive and very dangerous explosives strewn about the country’s landscape. From Kabul, to Bagram Airfield attacks, Kandahar, Kunduz, Alasay, Kamdesh, Wanat, and Musa Qala these battles and engagements left a variety of ordnance hidden beneath the sands and hills of Afghanistan which now need to be removed. The role of the 767th EOD company with its complement of highly trained EOD techs have now been assigned the task of returning to Afghanistan to remove the threat of these IED devices and begin this labor intensive role. The 767th will be working closely with the 3rd SFG to assist in this large project. Additional details of their missions, timetables and overall scope of operations will not be disclosed. To better understand the focus and role of what a US Army EOD tech does one needs to better understand the full range of training and experience that is required to perform this highly skilled and dangerous job within the United States Army.US Army explosive ordnance disposal specialists stand as the preeminent experts in explosives and tactics. They are trained and equipped to attack, defeat and exploit whenever possible unexploded live ordnance, IEDs also known as improvised explosive devices and weapons of mass destruction as well. The EOD technicians are trained in both Army schools as well as civilian academia so their skills sets can be developed and maintained utilizing the most current techniques when handling explosives. Their training allows them to deal with these threats in all climates and conditions. The USA Army categorizes some of the training and skill sets into areas that involve identifying and researching ordnance, work with advanced robotics and their use, maintenance and implementation of robotic devices in a combat environment, safely disposing of hazardous explosives using explosive means, and preparing and maintaining their tools and equipment and vehicles which are instrumental in doing their jobs. United States Army EOD specialists prepare for this military occupation specialty by taking coursework specifically in areas related to fields involving basic electronics, and learning the fundamental of electricity, identification of hazards and identifying US made munitions as well as foreign explosives, the use of demolition materials, procedures and proper operations, and specific training with regard to chemical, biological ordnance and weapons also referred to as weapons of mass destruction. The soldiers of the US Army 767th EOD company have received this training and after several deployments with more underway are utilizing this rigorous training and putting it to work in Afghanistan. For custom military shirts and designs check out CSD at (http://custom-shirt-designs.com) ]]></isc:description>
